John, I had this problem on my last contract. When the manager actually wanted me to TYPE something for him (transfering numbers from one table to another, and so on) I just looked at him in horror and said: OK, but if I do this, you won't be able to trust the accuracy of the numbers.

He looked startled (I guess "secretaries" never talk back to him) and asked why?

Because I'm a lousy typist! I know I use this tool to make my living, but I'm still a terrible typist, and I'm worst of all with strings of numbers. That's why God gave us the Backspace key and AutoCorrect! I didn't refuse the task, just made it clear he wouldn't be happy with the results.

He withdrew the request and in fact found something more appropriate rather quickly. I was afraid he was going to ask me to get coffee next.

One of so many reasons I'm glad that contract is over.

keeping a track of the Daily Activity reports of
