I missed the beginning of this thread. However, IMHO, this is the perfect
opportunity to write something for publication -- which will both fill a
need and add to our portfolios.

For example, if you've developed the perfect way to back up files on any
PC, to choose the perfect digital camera to meet individual needs, or
whatever, you could type it up and submit it. You'll even be making money
if you're selling to a mainstream publication.

JMHO.
