In addition to the wonderful comments Bruce and Geoff have made, I suggest
that you consider the following:

Depending on the number of boxes you will need for an initial run you should
consider hiring a non-local box company (unless your local company is a big
national box manufacturer).

Many "local companies" actually send the work out to a national box company
to do the work.

And some "local companies" only have a certain type of box they can create
or are willing to create.

At one company I worked for, we went through about 750K-1250K boxes / year
(some years better than others). We had about five major products (some
were two box-products). So we had to consider what a documentation set of
products looked like as well as what individual boxes looked like.

The box manufacturer we ended up with was willing to warehouse boxes and
print documents as well. They gave us an exceptionally good price for the
volume we had.

So I guess my advice is to think about multiple boxed products and think
about volume and think about package deals for printing and boxes.
