Arlen,

I don't think we were attacking "poor Irene." I was only suggesting that existing Web technology is explicitly set up to keep her from doing what she wants to do. Using that technology on an intranet does not change the nature of the technology; so I think it will be difficult, if not impossible, to cobble together a method that will do what she initially requested. I may be incorrect--I certainly have been before--but I think it's a non-trivial problem.
