As most of you know, my current contract is ending pretty soon. My final project is to document as much as possible for any future technical writers (since the position will remain vacant until at least this time next year - depending on the economy, of course).

I thought about going the simple route and leaving a Word or Frame document behind. But then it dawned on me that this is probably a pretty good time to add a new piece of sofware to my repetoire: Robohelp (since I've seen it listed in numerous job ads, and have been repeatedly turned down because I don't know RH). I figure that in the next three weeks I should get a pretty good basis in the program.

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone has any advice for starting with RH. Are there any pitfalls I should be aware of? Any tricks to make things run more smoothly.

I have never built a help file at all, so I wouldn't mind advice on this aspect either. I know to keep things fairly concise, but what other conventions are there to writing help files?

As always, TIA

Jeff
