Lots of factors to consider here. I'm about 2 months in on the job, working
with an extremely complex product suite, writing to an admin level, and in a
relatively new industry for me. Even though I make it a point to get inside
the products I document and really determine how these puppies work, I'd
classify myself as a beginner in the technology. This has its plusses and
minuses... On the plus, if I don't understand something, it gets answered
and documented accordingly (nothing left to assume on the user end). On the
minus, ramp up time cuts into productivity.
