I'm interested in buying Carolyn Rude's text on
technical editing, since I will be doing a fair amount
of editing of reports we provide in our deliverables.
I'm scared away from Rude's by some Amazon reviews.
Apparently the book is surprisingly sloppy, at least
in terms of its editing. Samson's and Tarutz's books
seem ok, but kind of long in the tooth.

Can anyone suggest a very good, up to date book on
technical editing out there? Former students of the
recommended authors, please declare yourselves up
front!

Thanks,

Steve
