Living/working in Tampa/ St. Pete

Hi all,

I'm a rain-soaked Seattleite who's interested in receiving feedback on what
it's like to live and work in Florida, specifically the Tampa/St. Pete area,
but I'd enjoy hearing about elsewhere, too.

I am what is generally referred to as a Sr. Technical Writer, though I know
that's a hotly contested term of late :) I also have a background in
editing, project analysis, and writing for the natural products industry.

Most importantly, I'd like to find a place to live where the traffic isn't
so bad and housing prices are somewhere near understandable (which rules out
California). Regular doses of sunshine and good swimming pools would also
make my life just about complete :)
