I was just thinking, along the lines of good references and job-hunting: wouldn't it be nice to have a feedback forum where you could post your good references for every little thing you ever did for anyone? So easy for people to check your worthiness. Feel free to use this idea!

Neutral: "Karen's a good neighbour (but we wish she'd weed her garden a bit more)... "
Praise: "We can call on Karen to get up to speed quickly and take on extra tasks."
Complaint: "I wish she'd park her sh*tty car around the corner instead of in front of our house."

I hate to say it, but with the newly fallen empire of dot.com mania (ok,
so I'm oversimplifying) it seems there is more resistance to
telecommuting, not less. I've been telecommuting from Europe for nearly
3 years. My projects come in on time and in budget. I get the projects
that other people can't handle. I get up to speed *fast*. I program
for $$$ in C, I know EDA, SGML/XML, B2B, APIs, and a host of other
buzz-word/acronyms. I can even spell some of them, ha ha.

So they _should_ trust you to follow through on your projects, but they don't seem willing, even with your good reputation.
