> I think that using images in your help files in fact makes the help file very readable and more interesting.
> I definitely try and incorporate as many images as I can in a manual.
> Images should be saved as jpg instead of bmp. bmp files makes a simple document very heavy. I have seen that jpg files reduces the size of the chm file to a great extent. Then I always try and focus on the relevant area in a screenshot and capture that instead of grabbing the whole screen and consuming space. Unless it is very necessary i do not go for the whole screen. of course one should not capture incomplete screens for example if you want to display a menu bar , capture the complete menu bar but you could do away with the internet explorer bar or the space which is below that if that is not very relevant.
> Images are always helpful for the readers. It makes explanation very easy and it makes explaining very easy. :):)
> The user manual must be as simple as one can make it and images help a lot in this respect.
> A technical manual would be very boring without illustrations. :):)
