Colleagues,

I'm working with a developer who's using some database terms I'm
not familiar with. Granted, it's been some time since I've been
intimate with databases, but...

He's talking about "consistent" data storage and database "portioning",
like this:

"The only non-scalable part of a data-centric enterprise is the
database and consistent data storage. The <product> is designed
to allow massive portioning of responsibility as well as data
distribution."

Is anyone familiar with these terms? I've heard of database partitioning,
but _portioning_??? Please advise!
