Wow, lots of interesting opinions re: PDF's. I've never had any trouble
reading anything on a PDF. In the replies to Kulbir, I did not see the
response that I thought might address the issue. I have had problems
creating PDF's with clear images and these are the things I had to pay
attention to:

1) If you are using Distiller 3.0, upgrade. Period. I had no end of trouble
with that version. Maybe it was just me.
2) Turn off graphic compression in the distiller options.

This is what worked for me.
