Sorry all,

I realize that I wasn't nearly as complete in my letter as I should be.

I do have a right-aligned tab and a tab after the numbering all set up in
the heading style. When I insert the heading style, I get the number and
then the curser is at the right-aligned tab (which is at the end of the
line, right side of the printed page margin). However, when I begin to enter
the text, at the right-aligned tab stop, the text doesn't right align, and
thus wraps to the next line.

If I do the same setup in a heading style without numbering, the right tab
stop works fine. As soon as I do automatic numbering, the tab stops working
as it should.

In my own docs, I completely ignore Word's automatic numbering and use seq
field instead with AutoCorrect to make the numbering for 1st and next
numbers (works great). But this is a template for the developers, and they
are never going to agree to entering something to generate their numbers.

So far, the best suggestion by far is to convince the powers that be to
avoid this kind of style. I don't think it looks good either. However, the
"client" will win at the end.

Greetings!

My apologies for taking up cyberspace with a specific Word question, but
I've searched archives and Woody's Watch to no avail.

I have a numbered heading system (1., 1.1, 1.1.1, etc.) and the powers that
be want the text for the heading to be right aligned. Something that they
say is a heading style from WordPerfect.

Example (where the || is the printed page margins and all the text is on the
same single line):
||1. -> This is the Heading||

Although I can set the style to have a right-aligned margin, when I type the
text wraps to the next line as if I had a left-aligned margin.
Example:
||1. -> This||
|| is the Heading. ||

Does anybody have any suggestions on how to make this happen?

TIA.

~Debbie
