Well...if this person was a skilled editor or had special experience with
customers or marketing - I could understand it. But, its probably just a
way for the manager to keep a closer eye on you because they don't like
you or your work.

Hence, I would consider addressing the disease (the fact that the uppers
don't much care for your work) rather than the symptom (the secretary
editing your work).

I don't know why they don't like your work. It could be because your boss
is a pinhead or your docs are crappy. Or a combination of both (which is
most likely). Whatever the case, perhaps you should ask your boss why the
admin is assigned this task rather then us (TECHWR-L). All we can provide
is shared outrage, meaningless speculation, and fruitless condolences.
