Jason, on the Adobe website's FrameMaker User-to-User forum you'll find some good threads debating the issue of which format(s) might be better than other formats, and what issues to consider when selecting both format and resolution.

In addition, don't miss checking out Shlomo Perets' Microtype site at -- Shlomo has a huge amount of info on generating PDFs from FrameMaker. His FM2Acrobat TimeSavers tools are worth their weight in gold, and his online course and in-person seminars are top quality.
