Beth, as a test, have you tried creating a new document and using that specific MM instance? Does it appear in the fonts list?

And, just to confirm, do you have that MM instance file on your system, along with the full MM font?

According to Adobe's tech doc http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/1711e.htm it solutions #8 and 9, could be that you need to recreate some font lists that ATM uses -- perhaps the W2K install messed up these files.
