Several people had opted to have a late lunch. We have a small kitchen with
one microwave and a jug kettle. I had had an early lunch and now wanted a
cup of tea. So there I was, in the middle of the queue for the microwave,
(three people standing around in a British kitchen constitute a queue) doing
the British tea ritual famed in technical writing tests, when a fourth
person appears in the doorway. "Oh no, there's a queue!" he identifies the
problem instantly, with the kind of acuity we expect at this company from
our dedicated problem-solvers. - "It's okay," I tell him, removing the
teabag and heading towards the door, "I'm not really in the queue, I'm just
making tea." - "But how dare you spread such misinformation, disinformation,
and chaos?" he inquires, moving in to join the queue. - "I'm a technical
writer," I tell him, "that's what I do."

Apologies for the long additional sig: it is added automatically and outwith
my control.
