I've been in this business *forever*, and I know that hiding funny stuff in
technical documents goes back at least to the '60's.>>

I've used the technique for a long time to see how carefully documentation
(especially very technical) documentation is reviewed. I'll often insert
"when pigs fly" at various places in the documentation (especially in code)
to see who's actually reading it and who's not.
