All I recall is that everyone used Marshall Rose "The Simple Book" as
the definitive reference.

Searching the RFCs
http://www.rfc-editor.org/cgi-bin/rfcsearch.pl

for "MIB" in the title, I get 80 hits. 99 for "SNMP". Presumably those would
give you good examples of how MIBs should be described.
