Beth,

I am saying this with all the love, empathy, and support I have; so please don't take it the wrong way. I know how frustrating and demeaning extended unemployment can feel, so I am not trying to hurt your feelings with this, but here goes: You are not a tech writer. You are a person. Tech writing is something you have done for a while, and you have enjoyed doing it, and you want to continue to do it. But it does not identify you. You can DO something else without having to BECOME something else.
