I see now that the solution offered prevents that scenario, only putting
the header and footer sideways on the screen.

When will Eric build Retract-My-Last-Post functionality into this list?!?

But I do confess that I'm still curious. If this solution had not been
presented, what would have been the advantage of having a sideways table
in an upright page that users were expected to fill out using their
computers?
