1. Yes, it will work. Every time you open a document, it will remind you
that you're opening a 5.5.x version, and then (in Windows versions, in
deference to Bill Gates), ask you if that's OK.

2. On the menu bar, select Format>Characters>Catalog. Viola! Now...

Background: Your "quickie" icons are gone. They were replaced by Element
icons. Don't worry about them until you want to use SGML (a tool that,
IMHO, only instills discipline in an undisciplined writer).

Hope this settles your nerves,

Subject: FrameMaker6.0 question

When I had a recent hard drive crash, my copy of FrameMaker 5.5 was replaced
with FrameMaker 6.0 +SGML by the company's support person.
I have some questions before I jump into all my 5.5 documents with this
1. Is this the bonafide 6.0 version or is it a special one designed just for
use with SGML?
2. I miss especially the menus of characters and components that I could get
by clicking buttons in the "margin bar" on the right side of the document
space. This new app does show a button for the graphic menu, but I really
need those other menus. How can I get them?
