I have been asked to review some SOPs for our sales department. I have
never written or edited SOPs before. I was hoping that someone may have
some information or could refer me to articles, websites, and so forth that
would explain what SOPs are (the purpose and audience) and what they should
contain as well as formatting and so forth.

After looking over the SOPs, I see a mix of SOP information and user manual
information. I think the user manual is much more helpful to the sales
force. What is the difference between the content in an SOP and the
content of a user manual?

I subscribe to the digest. So, please forward any information you can to
me directly, brenda -dot- stewart -at- digex -dot- com -dot-

Thanks!
