Sorry but: WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?!?

Isn't EMF a vector format? Why on earth would you suggest going from vector to
raster? Visio diagrams translated to GIF will look absolutely horrendous unless
sufficient DPI is preserved. Certainly, if there are bitmap images in the EMFs
then a better approach should certainly be investigated. But, can't you specify
the compression type of embedded bitmaps in EMFs?

Got to say the thought of a 135MB is ridiculous though. There's got to be
something wrong in the workflow if the resultant file is that huge.

Holy schnikees - that's HUGE! If you have the time (and the authority) I'd
advise you to convert the graphics to GIF files, and reduce the number of
colors in each image as much as possible.

If you have difficulty exracting the images, you can try taking screen
captures of them, and then saving the captures as GIFs. It's tedious as
hell, but will bring down the file size in a big way.

I don't find documents that large to be useful - so many machines can't
handle them, and trying to e-mail them is a nightmare. Good luck!
