Suzanne Chiles writes about a "perfect tech writing experience" where a team of tech writers were divided among the different groups of developers who were each working on different functions during the specification phase.

Must be nice! I have mostly been lone tech writer or have occasionally had one other tech writer working with me. I'm just happy to have access to the functional specs when it comes time to write the documentation.
