Colleen is "working on a newly-formed, cross-functional team and need(s)
to write an internal document..." that lacks a name.

I used to train self-directed work teams--you're talking about a "team
charter." I compliment you for creating one: so long as everyone signs
off on it--get true consensus, not just head nods--it will go a long way
toward making your team more effective.

I also recommend including a set of team values--not (just) ambiguous
terms like "respect," but specific behaviors you expect from each other,
like "Inform the team as soon as you know you will not make a milestone
date." And include and enforce some meeting rules like "One conversation
at a time."

If you need more suggestions, feel free to contact me offlist.

Good luck--you're off to a great start!

Jim
