I have created Macros (Where is Steve Hudson when I need him)
Steve's over on the Word-PC list, which is a good place to ask curly Word questions anyway.

(no subject or command text required)
I suggest you use SEQ fields and ignore autonumbering completely. Several websites have pages describing how to use them for this purpose; so does my book (see sig).
