We subscribe to Invention and Technology -- there have been tons of articles I liked in the magazine, my favorite being the one about card sharks in the past and all the devices they used to hide cards up their sleeves and elsewhere. Fascinating - I loved the pictures of the devices and descriptions of how they worked, and that the author had been threatened by some folks for revealing secrets. The history of military rations was also a great one, all the failures and successes and things that melted. There's usually a least one cool article in it every issue. Tech writing with a historical focus.

One side topic (hopefully I don't p-off anyone -- really should read the
list FAQs more carefully). Does anyone here like the magazine American
Heritage of Invention and Technology? Fascinating articles for a
geek-at-heart like myself. I'm just curious how popular that would be with
this crowd.
