Not doing research. Just doing. Implementing doc solution by:

- Uncompiled HTMLHelp file (RoboHelp HTML source). Note that if you compile
the file, it requires d/l'ing the file.
- Cross browser to AOL 3.0, N/S 4.0, MSIE 5.0.
- Javascript and DHTML used in files.
- No tripane (Users still need to see what they are doing).
- openwindow script link from content page to specific help file (with a BIG
"How Do I?").
- TOC and index on a mini-"home page" for the help system.
- Navigation allows you to go to next or previous step without going to TOC.
- Every page has a home and close window icon.

UAT going well and positive comments are coming in.

I'm doing some research on Help systems (user assistance) on web sites (not
web-based applications), especially membership and e-commerce sites. I'm
wonderiing if anyone is doing precisely this and what tools and technologies
they are using.
