Some of the "goobley gook" (I would have said "gobbledy-gook", but I'm
British) questions come from the area of psychological personality testing.
These types of test may have some limited value when they are administered
and analysed by trained psychology professionals.

People who are not trained in psychological testing often do ask these kinds
of questions in interviews and then base their decisions on the answers they
receive. The interviewer may have got their ideas from some self-help book
on "how to interview people", but the interviewee has probably read the same
book and knows what the expected answers are.

To my mind, this is the staff recruitment equivalent of deciding who to
marry based on someone's score in a "love test" published in a glossy
magazine.

I have only one thing. Please for the love of your higher power, don't waste
your time on that silly "What are your strengths...What are your
weaknesses...?" goobley gook.
