If you go to *any* meeting (STC or otherwise) with the explicit intention of
job hunting or networking connected with job hunting, keep track of the
date, place, your mileage and contacts; bring copies of your resume; and
print yourself some business cards.

In Massachusetts, as a conditin of getting your unemployment check, the
state unemployment office (D.E.T.) can ask to see evidence that you've made
at least three contacts per week. And last I heard, job search expenses,
including mileage, were federally tax deductible in most circumstances. Tax
codes change yearly, so you might want to check that with an accountant or
the IRS site.

You might even enjoy the meeting. Generally, it beats looking at four walls!
