This is for the tech writer, like myself, who is currently between engagements. I'm working on keeping my chops up by taking a class on ADA for Web sites and then participating in a one day "who can do best" contest for non-profits. That'll stretch my mind in one direction.

Another direction, between fielding the constant phone calls for my services - don't I wish, is to explore nooks and crannies of programs I use. There is one utility that I use to convert from Frame to HTML/RTF/HELP that I only know a small part of and have I got a deal for you.

Not one penny down, no obligation, free, Free, FREE...

Learn a neat conversion utility, well utility is hardly the word for it as the total manual is ~ 400 pages. I don't know even a quarter of its potential and I have used it for a couple of years.

It's a "Free personal copy of mif2go for unemployed tech writers and pubs consultants."

Go to: http://www.omsys.com/ and check it out.

BTW Disclaimer: I do not own any stock in or get any kickbacks for telling you about their offer. I just think it is a great product and they are good people. They are even polite when you don't RTTFM thoroughly enough and skip one key step to the install and write them asking for help. Oops. (Picture one red face here.)

Who says bad manuals aren't a risk to your life? Just ask the passengers of the jet where the engine caught fire because the company's maintenance manual was wrong about how to install one key bolt.
