In this case, the students may appear before the teacher is ready.

When someone would ask 5,000 of their peers to explain what knowledge management
and usability are--rather than look it up in Google and the Techwr-L
archives--that's not a good start. It suggests a kind of helplessness that's not
conducive to the kind of intense, dogged research that we need to do in
situations like this.
