Even though it's fun to beat on this tech writer for annoying you, the
fact is that it's extremely unlikely he/she operated in a vaccuum. Someone
in authority must have approved the text, or even pushed to have the
humour inserted. It's a k-rad watch, so someone wanted k-rad
documentation. It may annoy or frustrate you, but if you had a choice
between paying the bills or saying to your manager, "Fie on thee, sirrah!
'Tis not proper tech writing, this! I hereby resign!", what would you be
doing?
