'Make sure and check the oil' strikes me as perfectly acceptable
grammar. Is that because I'm reading and writing British English?
If so, then I think we've found a clear example of why the aerospace
Simplified English was created: to iron out the variabilities
of different flavours of Englishes for documents that must
be read unambigously for safety reasons.
