If you're thinking of reinstalling Word, maybe you want the default styles rather than some customized version you've created and probably used elsewhere.

If so, just delete the Normal.dot you've got--Word will create a factory-fresh copy automatically, next time you start it.

Of course, if you want to keep anything in your existing version of Normal.dot, don't delete it--move it, or rename it.
