Dear Technical Writers:

We use FrameMaker 6.0 for our courseware guides. We currently use an 8.5x11"
page layout, and are looking to move to a smaller format that uses perfect
binding. (Right now, our books are hole-punched and bound in three-ring
binders.) I have investigated smaller page layouts (7.5x 9"), as well as
moving from our current two-column page format to a one-column page format.
I have also downloaded FrameMaker's book templates, to see if Adobe has any
good ideas for page layout.

I'm wondering if you can point me to any resources that will help me with
book design. Plus, I'd like to understand more about perfect binding, and
what restrictions book design has (if any), if our printer moves to perfect
binding.

I appreciate any resources you can recommend. Thank you very much.
