Another benefit - if you ever have any trouble with the IRS regarding filing
payroll taxes, the payroll service is liable for any mistakes.

Example: I once used the payroll service at Well Fargo Bank here in
California for a small business (5 employees). We got a notice from the IRS
that indicated we owed $25,000 in back payroll taxes - one of those 'God
only knows why' government mess-ups. Wells Fargo handled the whole thing,
which provided me with tremendous peace of mind.
