Hmmmm glad to see that the usual tech whirl rule applies. There is no
standard. Pick one and use it consistently.

Perhaps I should have widened my scope a little at the start instead of
focussing on just one element of confusion. In general there are two types
of pages. Pages containing lists of database entries, with a "Modify" button
for each line. And pop up pages to edit further details of entries. These
pop up pages also use "Save" and "Cancel" buttons, dropping you back into
the lists of entries. A concern is that if I use "Save" for applying changes
to each line, I'm compromising the functionality of "Save" (and close) for
the pop-up pages. Does that make sense? Do you think I can use Save for both
functions without confusing the user?
