Not to downplay all recruiters, as there are some good ones out there
who do know how to find good candidates, but many just aren't informed
enough or aren't inclined enough to ask the right questions. A recruiter
knows what to look for by what their client asks for. A good recruiter
will analyze their clients infrastructure, business model, and staffing
needs before even looking at their client's wish list.

::: What seems odd to me is that recruiters are so preoccupied

::: And, as John Posada reflected, a question or two about familiarity
::: technology might be useful.
