Has anyone engaged in these discussions ever had their minds changed by
else's arguments/evidence/presentation? Have you entered into one of these
discussions saying, "I believe X is true," and come out at the end of the
saying, "Now I see the error of my ways. Now I believe either X is not true
or Y is
better than (or as good as) X."

I've had my mind changed by discussions that I didn't initiate, and for
those that I did. There is no humiliation in having your mind's
called education. (yesterday I knew X and therefore believed I know X+1, so believe something else).

In fact..many of my conversations on this list is to air my belief and to
validate what I know, and when I get additional input, my belief may be
validated or it may not be, at which time, I'll examine by belief.

To NOT learn and change your mind is the sign of ignorance.
