Anything that helps users quickly find what they need is good. If you have a
glossary, I would definitely put its entries into an Index. The problem
occurs wehn you don't have a glossary and have to point to the first
occurrence/definition in text. Even then, you can help the users by
modifying the Index entry with the word (definition) in the entry itself, as
others have mentioned. Then it doesn't matter how they read the manual. The
main thing is to provide some identifiable Index item that points to the
definition. As to the glossary, "If ya got it, flaunt it!"
