A concordance is a list of key words that appear in the document.
An index takes things a step or two further and provides synonyms
for key words and providing entries for concepts as well.

So, maybe, in a book that discusses the Erase function, the
concordance has the single entry _erase_. The index, on the
other hand, has entries for _erase_, _remove_, _delete_, ...
and may even have entries like, _disk storage, reclaiming_
(reclaiming disk storage & storage, reclaiming disk)

OK, what is the difference between a concordance and an index? I tried
looking it up in the dictionary, but that confused the issue more than it
clarified it.
