if these are "add ons", call it the "add on" library. Apple, not being one to accept the simple solution, used to call their hardware-specific software plug-ins "enablers",

How about another word from the Apple lexicon: extension. You are extending the existing capabilities of the system by making the features available to additional operating systems. When you [excuse me, "the company"] produces the next major release, the marketing weenies can make big noises about supporting all the OSes without needing the extensions.
