<John replied:>
I think it is important to establish that in general, the technical writers
who participate in this list are not the typical writer. If you were to go
to any gathering of technical writers (I'm not referring to STC, but any
gathering) and ask them if they subscribe to this list, WAY more than half
would say "What list?"

Therefore, when I talk about technical writers, I'm not talking about
techwr-l tech writers...I'm referring to all of them. So, by virtue of
being
here on this list, it automatically reduces the percentage of writers who
resemble my description.

Sam...I wasn't referring to you, or anyone in general...at least nobody on
this list, though a few faces floated through my mind when I made my
description.

<I reply:>
No problem, John. Never thought that you were referring to me in
particular, or anyone else in particular. Just thought I'd throw it in that
I won't hesitate in working extra during a crunch or to meet a deadline
since I posted previously that I'm one of those that "work to live, not
live to work."

Sam
