On May 1, Andrew retorted:

>No, they're not ("Good intentions are not always rewarded with respect and
financial gain"). And a smart person can identify these situations early and
either get away from them or manipulate them such that do reward them. A
cog-in-the-machine just lets people take advantage of the ... (?)

To which I reply,
Guess I've been 'lucky' ... managed to get away (after a few years) from
each situation (employer), always (well, mostly) to a better one (never been
fired or laid off - knock on wood).

Andrew continues,

>I work for myself because I refuse to work for morons. I'd rather work 90
hours a week for myself than 10 for somebody so stupid, they should be
ground up into hot dogs. And unfortunately, most large organizations reward
and encourage mediocrity and obedience.<

As would I. But if you're working 90 hours/week, I'd say that you have a
poor manager. In case you ever have to leave him, surely, Andrew, there is
*some* company, organization, or entity out there that meets your lofty
standards, expectations?
