Before the crash, I was paying contract writers and editors between $60 and $80 per hr. Since I've rejoined the ranks of
the self-employed, I'm billing at $50 to $60 per. I am still getting calls, but I think that's because my technical background
is somewhat unusual and I have a moderately good rep in that field. I know a number of writers with less specialized
backgrounds who are taking work at $35 to $45 per, and others who aren't getting any at all.
