[X-Posted to several lists where I am still nomail]

I played with some code today, having been forced to work with that beast
known as Word XP (yes, the pay is great). I hate it, have always advised
against it's purchase and I am fully vindicated again. However, as all us
Wordy dudes know, we mostly have no choice but to sit and grin and bear it
it. See Shakespear's Hamlet, blah de blah.

Anyway, here's the brief version and it's purely regarding the cha cha style
problem.

Quick fix:

Save As Word 97-2002 - RTF (*.doc)

Reload. Rename style. Get on with life.

VBA stuff:

John's macro fails. My rewrite uses the same logic, it was a pure rewrite
based solely on my development checklist that you can purchase as part of
the VBA Beginner's Spellbook, thus it fails too. I did have a semi
solution - however the cha cha name can grow beyond the length that the
style parameter is prepared to accept as a valid style name. Those
interested in a sick looking style name can email me offlist for a copy of
the screenshot :-)

However, if one has a cha cha style of length less than (who really gives
one?) then you can use a small portion of the previously posted code.

If there is a "Char" in the name, then just reset the font formatting of
each instance. The cha cha disappears totally. Don't rename the style first,
else you totally cannot do this.

So.

Three weeks before I had to deal with this. About 4 hours work. I'm sorry,
but why is it that no-one else has come up with this yet? Its been available
to the general public, let alone beta testers for what... a year or more?

<Sighs in disbelief>

Quick, send me some hate mail to cut my ego back down to size again, I know
:-)
