The same problem that exists in so many other software
companies: not enough technical writers and a lack of
interest on the part of the company in providing good
product documentation. You'd think that a company whose
products are aimed primarily at document developers would
know better, but when it comes down to it, Adobe is still
a software company. I don't think that any of the people
they've sent to demo new products to any pubs group I've
managed has ever been someone with experience as a
technical writer.
