Both of Nielsen's articles focus specifically on the problem of PDF files that are viewed through Web browsers.

The IRS tax form is there to be printed -- not viewed through a browser.

I'm sure that your own "examples of online PDF, which are designed to be printed" are excellent. Nothing beats PDF for *printing*.

And by the way, Nielsen is spelled i before e, as in "Brierly."
